There are many excellent sources for CGI information on the Internet.
Therefore, on this web site, we have not compiled extensive information aside from working
with them in your account. On the sidebard to the left, we have provided a few sites to
get you started.
CGI scripts must be
uploaded to your cgi-bin in ASCII to work properly. For CGI scripts to
run in your account, you will need to set File permissions to allow you and others to
access each file on your site for reading, writing, and executing. CGI scripts must be
made 'executable' in order to function correctly, while HTML files should be 'readable' to
everyone by default.
NOTE: For Server Security
files are not allowed to have 777 permissions.
If you need to change file permissions on
a particular file or directory, follow these steps with WS-FTP for Windows:
For hosting customers who are running from
FTP, right mouse click on the file which requires permission alteration. For virtual
server customer, you will have access to your server by Telnet or FTP.
Click on the check box next to the what you wish to
enable. Access is split into three categories:
- OWNER
: you; the owner of the file.
- GROUP
: all the other users on the
system.
- OTHER
: everyone else (people from
the outside).
Note that this works only with WS-FTP for
Windows

PHP is a popular, freely available web applications development tool.
The newest version, called PHP3, includes an HTML-embedded scripting language and a
server-side preprocessor that interprets the HTML- embedded code in order to create
dynamically generated web pages. Thus, PHP is commonly used for the development of
database enabled web sites.

the complete use of MySQL.
To create/use MySQL on your account, be sure that you have requested that
it be added.

web utility available from www.phpwizard.net
